Precision Machining

 

• A fine example of the Precision machining capabilities of Bale Defence Industries is the identifying of fatigue areas in the 76mm Breech Block for the RAN then being capable of repairing the fatigued areas utilising state of the art machinery, and techniques.
  
  
• Machinery used in the repair of the 76mm Breech Block is capable of operating in the 4th and 5th axis allowing for greater accessibility to fatigued areas that would usually be inaccessible on conventional CNC machines. Machining is within accuracies greater than .0005".
  
  
• Possible fatigue areas are identified using Finite Element Analysis. Using the information gathered it is then possible to identify areas that will possibly fatigue in the future.
  
  
• Applying the technology and expertise of Bale Defence Industries, the longevity of effected components is extended well beyond the original manufacturers expectations.
